I have never been to Kosiv, nor seen photographs of either the village,
or the Jewish cemetery. But in the late 18th and early 19th century
my ancestors were Chasidim of the Kosover rabbi and for Jewish holidays my g.g.g. grandfather, who lived near what is now Sighetu Marmatiei
in Romania, would ride his horse across the Carpatian mountains
in order to spend the holiday with the “Kossover”.
