Hi, I have just seen this photo and I would like to know whether this is the Mykolaiv (also known as Nikolaiev) work camp that was set up by the Germans in the Ukraine during the war. Jewish male inmates of the Berstad Concentration camp/ghetto in Transnistria were sent there to do forced labour. My mother’s father was one of them. He did not survive. If so, what can be seen there today and is there any testament to the fact that there had been a camp there or a monument to the victims? Thanks
Thanks for your reply. You are saying then that these are two different places. Do you know anything about the Mikhaleiv labour camp? It was also known as Nikolaiev.

Dear David, no this is not Mykolaiv but Mykhailivka labour camp. At Mykolaiv I have not been so far and can’t tell…

Yes, these are different places. Sorry, I can’t say anything about the one you are interested in. 😦
