I first visited Ioannina in 1980. A few weeks ago, my wife Anna and I returned from our most recent trip there. For various reasons, this city in north-western Greece has been a constant presence in my life. It was long after my first journey that I learnt there had been, and still is, a Jewish Ioannina. Now I cannot get it out of my mind.
