December is coming closer and with all its holidays it’s for many of us a time of gifts. I would like to give a present to all who accompanied my trips through Eastern Europe’s Jewish past and present – either in person or by following my experiences through the Vanished World blog or social media. A calendar for 2018 with some of my photos is available now for free download, consisting of photos from Jewish heritage sites in Ukraine, Moldova and Poland. You may produce it on your own printer or at an on-line shop of your choice. Enjoy and have a great 2018!

Yes, I’m fine and I’m working on a new photo book on Eastern Europe’s remaining Jewish heritage – mainly consisting of images from Ukraine, Moldova, Romania and Poland. The result of countless trips. Have a first look in!

Radio Free Europe / Radio Liberty reports on Jewish cemeteries in Moldova
The Moldovan edition of Radio Free Europe / Radio Liberty broadcasted a documentary about Jewish cemeteries in the country. Represented are the cemeteries in Chisinau, Orhei and Vadul-Rashcov. They are outstanding witnesses of Jewish heritage in Moldova. Hopefully this will contribute to raise awareness of public, politics and administrations towards these cemeteries and their worthiness of protection. I am grateful to have been interviewed by editor Eugenia Pogor and for the chance to express my view of the significance of these places for all of us.
